A great day at Soulseat on Sunday. Two competitions held for previous winners and this years placed entrants.

The bait competition was won by youngster Gordon Spiers with the one and only Buff Smith in second followed by relative newcomer Colin Campbell in third.  The biggest kept fish was caught by old faithful David Hardie snr. Buff also had two magnificent brownies over 5lb each and with only one blank who shall remain nameless (George Wellman) woops! just slipped, out a great day was had by almost all!!

The fly fishers started in the afternoon and once again big brownies featured in the catches.  The winner for the umpteenth time was Bobby “Bibio” Greenhill who was considered for disqualification following a brief underwater expedition!!! in second place was Stuart “The shark fisher” Fitzsimmons who also had the largest kept fish, once again, a big brownie. In third equal were Gordon  McGuire and Danny Love two reliable stalwarts of the club.

The top junior was once again a Copeland ( Bruce ) this time I think who received a rod and reel donated by a damp Bobby Greenhill.

Would like to take this opportunity to thank David Hardie jnr for his efforts this year in getting donations from local businesses and individuals for all competitions this season.  Keep up the good work Davie!!
