Great mixed bag of roach perch and rudd at Magillie today 27-07-2019 by George Wellman. First real try at pole fishing . Well done George just a week too late for competition!! (Buff take note!)
The latest competition was held on Saturday at Magillie where a good turnout of members enjoyed a productive days fishing with all catches being returned.
The top man on the day was Stuart Fitzsimons weighing in an impressive 17lbs 12oz mixed bag of roach, perch and rudd. In second place, following on from his recent win at the same venue, was John Langdon followed by the ever reliable George Wellman. Overall in excess of 50lbs were weighed in by the competitors.
Our next outing is the Alf Steel Rosebowl on Sunday 4th August at Soulseat. This event also includes the Ladies and OAP trophy.
The Stewart Fidler Shield was fished for at Magillie on Saturday and despite the thunder and lightning good catches were made by all competitors. The competition was won by John Langdon with a total weight of 13lb6oz, Ian Haynes was second and the ever reliable Buff Smith third. Bobby Garret had a really nice roach of 1lb1oz. The junior trohy was won by Rian Allen.
Magillie is fishing really well this year with plenty of nice roach and small perch so good news for all those that enjoy a relaxing days fishing.
